OT-88-08-4 -- Current Demand for HVAC&R Graduates PDF

A preliminary survey was conducted on the annual demand for post-secondary graduates in the heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration industries of the United States. The analysis was restricted to two-year Associate Degree (A.S.) graduates in engineering technology and four-year Baccalaureate Degree (B.S.) graduates in engineering. The industry was divided into seven sectors for this analysis: consulting, contracting, servicing, manufacturing, merchandising and sales, government and utilities, and operations and maintenance. Results of the study indicate the annual need for both A.S. graduates and B.S. graduates. Recommendations for further study and action are included in the paper.
