Storage assisted air conditioning offers one of the most significant opportunities on the customer side of the meter for load management by summer peaking utilities. The commercialization of this storage system is based on the successful development of a new low cost component containing thermal energy storage materials. Full-scale system tests of the storage assisted air conditioning have been operating in Solar One, the University of Delaware's test house, in two different configurations during 1978. Extensive field tests are planned for the summer of 1979.
