Thermosyphon oil coolers (TSOC) operate as unique high-temperature chillers using high-pressure liquid ammonia saturated at 70°F to 95°F (21°C to 35°C), and evaporating in the TSOC at the system condensing pressure 70°F to 95°F (21°C to 35°C). This is made possible by using a gravity feed recirculation refrigerant system based on drawing liquid ammonia from a receiver or auxiliary liquid supply.
