RP-359 -- Updating Cooling Load Temperature Differences and Cooling Load Factors for Chapter 25, Handbook of Fundamentals PDF

ASHRAE research project 359-RP had as its principal objective the revision of the cooling load temperature differences (CLTDs) and cooling load factors (CLPs) in the Cooling Load chapter of the Handbook of Fundamentals (HOP). This report comes at the conclusion of the project, and presents the procedures followed, methods employed, and results obtained. It will be seen that while a great deal of new and valuable information, qualitative and quantitative, was obtained, the originally planned objectives were not all met. The problems encountered that prevented achieving all objectives are discussed in this report.

The report is organized much like the project. That is, there are two major issues, namely the weighting factor study, and the CLF/CLTD study. These are summarized and discussed at length in subsequent sections of the report.
