The objectives are to determine the existing techniques which are used for sizing condensate return lines and compare their results with those developed in ASHRAE RP-167 (completed March, 1980). The differences in the results from the various techniques for a variety of situations will be noted and related to actual HVAC systems, in addition, a simple procedure for sizing steam condensate lines will Be recommended for inclusion in the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals.
