Building Information Modeling (BIM) software tools are being adopted by architects, engineers, and contractors for purposes of integrated project delivery. There are a number of software tools from many different vendors that provide both BIM and building analysis software. Interoperable schemas such as Green Building XML (gbXML) are open and free, and they are the "glue" that allows these tools to communicate with one another.
