SL-08-033 -- The European Directive on Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD) — The EPBD Buildings Platform PDF

This paper provides an overview of the Directive 2002/91/EC of the European Parliament and Council on Energy Efficiency of Buildings and the activities of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Buildings Platform. The EPBD Buildings Platform is a European Commission initiative in the framework of the Intelligent Energy–Europe (2003–2006) program. It provides information services for practitioners and consultants, experts in energy agencies, interest groups, and national policy makers in the European member states to help them with the implementation of the EPBD.

This paper introduces the main requirements given in the Directive and provides a brief overview of services provided by the Buildings Platform.
