This paper represents a contribution to more precise calculation of cooling loads from solar radiation through glazed surfaces that receive shade during the day. It applies a method of estimating the cooling load based on the actual distribution of solar radiation throughout the room, while analyzing the effect of shaded, as compared to unshaded, windows and attempting to evolve a more precise method of making estimates.
