This Standard is to be read in conjunction with NZS 8134.0:2008 Health and disability services (general) Standard which contains the definitions and audit framework information applicable across the health and disability suite. Part 1 is the result of the revision of NZS 8134:2001 Health and Disability Sector Standards and incorporates the requirements from NZS 8143:2001 National Mental Health Sector Standard. NZS 8134:2008 is applicable to a wide range of health and disability services and includes Standards on consumer rights, organisational management, continuum of service delivery, and safe and appropriate environment.
