This specification covers six types of nylon cloth for use in the fabrication of parachutes.
Type designation. The nylon cloth shall be of the following types as specified (see 6.2).
Type I - 1.20 oz/sq. yd (0.5-5.0 cfm air permeability) - Rip stop weave
Type II - 1.12 oz/sq. yd (30-50 cfm air permeability) - Rip stop weave
Type III - 1.17 oz/sq. yd (30-50 cfm air permeability) - Rip stop weave
Type IV - 1.20 oz/sq. yd (0.5-3.0 cfm air permeability) - Rip stop weave
Type V - 1.17 oz/sq. yd (0.5-5.0 cfm air permeability) - Rip stop weave
Type VI - 1.5 oz/sq. yd (0.5-3.0 cfm air permeability) - Rip stop weave
