This Practice provides the geotechnical consultant with a geotechnical engineering investigation specification that harmonizes the requirements of major process industry companies and engineering/construction firms into a single document.
This Practice describes the minimum requirements for a geotechnical engineering investigation. The investigation shall consist of subsurface exploration, field and laboratory testing as needed, analyses, and preparation of report(s) presenting engineering recommendations for design and construction.
The geotechnical investigation specified herein includes no environmentally related investigation or analysis.
