The purpose of this Practice is to provide minimum requirements for design of air systems supplying pneumatically actuated instruments and valves.
This Practice provides, in general terms, requirements for air quality, capacity, sizing, and testing requirements for instrument air systems. It also addresses requirements for equipment, piping, valves, and airsets to be used in instrument air systems. Guideline information and installation details are addressed in other Process Industry Practices (PIP) documents.
