INTRODUCTION
In many parts of the country, post-tensioned concrete slabs with unbonded tendons have become the preferred choice for floor systems in both commercial and residential buildings. The two most popular systems are one-way slabs spanning between parallel beams placed between column supports, and two-way flat slab systems. Both systems are economical for applications in parking structures, low- and high-rise apartment buildings, office buildings, industrial buildings, hotels, and hospitals. For two-way slabs, the use of banded (or grouped) tendons is the prevalent tendon layout. Typically, tendons in two-way slabs are banded in one direction and uniformly distributed in the orthogonal direction.
