The aim of this Standard is to outline requirements to provide a minimum level of fire safety for rail rolling stock operating in Australia. This document applies to locomotive rolling stock. The document covers the design, construction and maintenance of rolling stock. Sections 2 to 11 (inclusive) of this document applies to the design and construction of new locomotive rolling stock. Section 11 of this document applies to the maintenance, modification and refurbishment of existing locomotive rolling stock.
