This Standard is part of the RISSB Australian Rail Infrastructure Standards suite of Standards and covers the following aspects of the Infrastructure: The purpose of this Standard is to set out the requirements for ensuring that track structure and support systems are safe and fit for purpose.
This Standard specifies functional and design requirements, approved configurations, and inspection, monitoring and maintenance of the track structure and support systems used in Australia.
This Standard includes the life cycles of sleepers, turnout bearers, ballast, sleeper plates, turnout bearer plates, dog spikes, spring spikes, screw spikes, resilient fastenings, rail insulators, rail insulation pads and rail anchors.
This Standard covers tracks as classified in AS 7630.
