This specification defines the procedures and requirements for joining metals and alloys using the electron-beam (EB) welding process.

These procedures are used typically for electron-beam welding of aerospace components in hard and soft vacuum atmospheres, but usage is not limited to such applications. EB welding for fatigue critical applications should be performed in accordance with AMS 2680.
