This specification covers an aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of sheet, strip, and plate.

These products have been used typically for heat treated parts requiring through-hardening to minimum tensile strength of 200 ksi (1,380 MPa) in section thickness up to 0.375 in. (9.50 mm) and proportionately lower strength in heavier thicknesses, but usage is not limited to such applications.
