This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, forgings, and stock for forging.
These products have been used typically for parts which require high mechanical properties in the annealed condition and a high strength to weight ratio up to 750 \mDF (399 \mDC), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion; SAE ARP 982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
