This SAE Standard applies to self-propelled, rider operated, sweepers and scrubbers as defined in SAE J 2130 with maximum machine level surface speeds up to 32 km/h. Machine capable of speeds equal to and greater than 32 km/h are not covered by this document.
To provide minimum performance criteria for service braking systems, secondary stopping systems and parking brake systems for self-propelled street sweepers, industrial sweepers and industrial scrubbers.
To provide test criteria by which machine braking system performance may be verified.
