This specification has been declared "CANCELLED" by the Aerospace Materials Division, SAE, as of June 2007, and had been superseded by AMS 2304. The requirements of the latest issue of AMS 2304 shall be fulfilled whenever reference is made to the cancelled MAM 2304. By this action, this document will remain listed in the Numerical Section of the Index of Aerospace Material Specifications noting that it is superseded by AMS 2304.
This specification covers steel cleanliness requirements in metric SI units for special aircraft-quality ferromagnetic steels, other than hardenable corrosion resistant steels, by magnetic particle inspection methods.
AMS 2304 is the inch/pound version of this MAM.
