This paper briefly reviews why aerobic acrylic adhesives became the industry standard for cold bonding in DC motor magnet assembly, and how new technology aerobic acrylic adhesives overcame the regulatory concerns. New advances in both adhesives and dispensing equipment are also highlighted. New patented technology is now available that increases worker safety and minimizes corrosion issues, especially in closed-can motors, methacrylic acid HazMat issues, and acrylic acid HazMat issues.
