Remanufacturing of metal cutting, metal forming and molding equipment is now widely accepted. Remanufacturing may include basic machine rebuilding, replacement of obsolete controls, interfacing with MIS, and replacement of old tooling. Mechanized assembly systems based on modular standard chassis are fully capable of such remanufacturing. Savings may be 30-40% under new system prices and in many cases may be done on the customer's floor with significant additional savings.
