The physical characteristics of an electron beam makes possible a 99% transformation of beam energy into heat. This high degree of energy transfer efficiency capability, coupled with the beam diffusion that results from EB welding directly in atmosphere, allows production tolerances of low-cost joint preparations. Different welding examples demonstrate the capability of this process.
