Several application methods of printing SMT attachment adhesives are discussed. Adhesive printability test results of print process variations using conventional thickness stencils to achieve a significant range of deposit heights and diameters are presented. Quantitative adhesive deposit height and diameter measurements are obtained from a novel application of laser triangulation. The effects on the deposit height range for a spectrum of aperture diameters is quantified.
