This paper describes some of the latest improvements to entry equipment for high speed mills. It includes tube mill entry ends supplied as systems, automatic tension control units and automatic tail out with strip positioning. The paper also covers the importance of high speed shearwelders and accumulators. It discusses how the fill speed of the accumulator can greatly affect the storage available in the accumulator. It also covers the proper selection of a horizontal accumulator. Finally, it discusses the newly developed, low cost shearwelders and horizontal accumulators for stainless steel and slower speed tube mills.
