Zero defect quality, product liability and global competition have forced induction hardening processes increasingly to include 100% testing to verify that the correct material microstructure and hardness characteristics have been produced. Testing must be fast, reliable, nondestructive, economical and easy to implement on the factory floor. The objective is zero defects by 100% testing and lower test costs by reduced destructive testing and by automation of the testing.
