THERMOSET COMPOSITE PARTS CAN BE BUILT WITH MORE ACCURACY IF THEY ARE PROCESSED ON TOOLS WITH A SIMILAR COEFFICIENT OF THERMAL EXPANSION. TOOLS CAN NOW BE PRODUCED WHICH ALLOW PARTS TO CLOSELY DUPLICATE THE MASTER. FORMERLY HAND-BUILT MODELS CAN NOW BE REPLACED BY ACCURATE, DIMENSIONALLY STABLE MASTER MODELS USING CAD/CAM TECHNOLOGY AND MODELING STOCK. TOOLS THAT REQUIRED SEVERAL STEPS TO PRODUCE CAN NOW BE MADE DIRECTLY FROM THE MASTER MODEL USING ROOM TEMPERATURE CURING PREPREG. THIS PROCESS ALLOWS FOR AN INCREASE IN DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY AND LOWER COSTS. THE USE OF ROOM TEMPERATURE CURING PREPREG MADE FROM MATERIALS THAT ARE SIMILAR TO THE COMPOSITE PART ALLOWS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PARTS WITHIN CLOSE TOLERANCES.
