THE DRIVE TO PRODUCE HIGH-PERFORMANCE CARBON FIBER-REINFORCED POLYMER COMPOSITES HAS RESULTED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERAL NEW COMMERCIAL MATERIALS. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES SOME FABRICATION EXPERIENCE GAINED BY WORKING WITH THESE HIGH-TEMPERATURE THERMOSETS AND THERMOPLASTICS IN BOTH PROTOTYPE AND PRODUCTION MODES. TOOLING FOR THESE COMPOSITES IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
