POTENTIOSTATIC POLARIZATION EXPERIMENTS WERE CONDUCTED TO STUDY THE CORROSION CHARACTERISTICS OF A1-Zn-Mg ALLOYS CAST IN SAND AND PERMANENT CAST IRON MOLDS. THE RESULTS OBTAINED INDICATE THE ALLOY COMPOSITION AND MOLD MATERIAL EXERT SIGNIFICANT INFLUENCE ON THE GENERAL CORROSION PARAMETERS. IN COMPARISON, THE EFFECTS OF GRAIN REFINEMENT AND THE SELECTED AGING TIMES ARE VERY MARGINAL.
