This paper will present an approach to restructuring manufacturing engineering/technology education that is currently under development at Focus:HOPE's Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT). In this model, linkages between the job knowledge and the theoretical underpinning are actively pursued. It requires many innovative instructional processes as well as nontraditional methods for the identification and proof of knowledge attainment.
