This paper focuses on the nature and substance of Malaysian polytechnic curricula and their methodology for training entry level manufacturing professionals. The intent of this paper is to illustrate curriculum approaches of a soon-to-be major manufacturing competitor and partner in Pacific Asia. The system of polytechnic education and curricula content are blends of those found in Europe, Australia and the United States. The paper describes the polytechnic elements of their higher education system and highlights features that warrant consideration for adjusting our own approach to manufacturing education.
