The results of extended experimental studies in industrial-like assembly of automotive engines, electrical contractors and printed circuit boards at Gerhart-Mercatur-University of Duisburg, Germany, give a new and different understanding about learning processes in manufacturing than we had before. Experienced special teaching methods may enable unskilled workers to be trained in less than one shift even with cycle times far beyond usual experience. This paper presents details about learning curves, training methods and different product related performance of learning.
