The importance of quality is being increasingly understood throughout Irish industry. A major study of the engineering industry in Ireland has identified quality as a key success factor. The regional Technical College, Sligo, has led Irish industry by supplying graduates tailored to meet industry's needs. This paper outlines the curriculum for this course, methods of assessment used, industrial placement and final year project requirements. The profile of students, their employment success and further development will be summarized.
