The competitive global market requires an international dimension in engineering education, Michigan Technological University strives to provide a holistic education through a number of integrated interdisciplinary programs and certificates with a focus on international studies. The program in German Area Studies has successfully engaged in study-abroad and internship experiences for 12 years and provided international exposure to over 100 participants who gained proficiency in German and international work experience within the ABET-accredited four-year undergraduate program because they can apply credits earned in study-abroad, internships and certificate programs in international studies towards their degrees.
