The efforts to establish an integrated automated manufacturing system (IAMS) is introduced. The IAMS was built in open architecture structure which allows a better expansion ability to the industry. Students are able to access the system and learn the detail knowledge of the system instead of only operation skills. Flexibility is another objective of the IAMS. Novel designs were made which allows the system to accommodate a large variety of jobs, generated from students' assignments.
