Engineering education in manufacturing faces a constant task of industrial practice with a science-based education. In addition, there is a need to teach the general principles of manufacturing in the context of a product. These issues have assumed a greater concern especially in high technology areas. This paper describes the rationale and approach to developing video-based instructional material in packaging-manufacturing and, specifically, the course on the manufacture of printed wire boards.
