This paper will discuss the development of an interdisciplinary curriculum and laboratory for Electronics Design and Manufacturing at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The development effort was a joint venture between the Manufacturing Technology. Computer Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering department, in collaboration with leading electronics manufacturing companies. The focus of the curriculum and laboratory is on Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
