After a long neglect, manufacturing engineering has become an integral part of engineering education. In today's crowded engineering curriculum, many departments that like to teach manufacturing courses find themselves faced with the classical problem of finding no room in the curriculum to add many new courses. This paper presents an elegant solution to this problem. The solution is to design and implement one course that exposes students to various aspects of manufacturing, and provides them with hands-on experience. This paper covers the details of the design and contents of both the course and the laboratory. It also covers implementation and resource issues encountered during course delivery as well as the laboratory operations and rules. It also discusses student involvement in the course.
