The internet provides some great opportunities for cooperation between manufacturing industries and educational institutions to prepare the workforce of the future. Students from Berea College and Morehead State University have been involved in a team design project using communication tools of the internet. It is our intent to extend this kind of team design project between industry and education. The purpose of this paper is to explain these projects and discuss the necessary tools and the success/problems that have been encountered. In addition, strategies for developing industry/education partnerships using tools of the internet will be discussed.
