This paper chronicles the development of and the first year and a half of offering courses in a manufacturing engineering bachelor's degree program. The program was designed to meet the specific needs of manufacturers in the western Michigan area where it is offered. The program ? a joint effort of Western Michigan University, Muskegon Community College, and local industry ? is offered exclusively at one of the university's regional centers located on a community college campus. The effort of the different partners during this time are reported, as are some of the lessons learned.
