To meet the need of industry, the Industrial Center (IC) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has recently developed a four-week training program for the manufacturing engineering students providing them with solid hands-on practical experience on how to integrate modern and conventional techniques in developing a product. That is from concept to part. This paper describes the program in detail, the effectiveness of the program, the student assessment, and comments from the students.
