DIRECT FLAME TREATMENT OF POLYOLEFINS OFFERS SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES OVER OTHER METHODS. INCREASED USE OF WATER-BASED INKS HAS RESULTED IN THE NEED TO UTILIZE THESE ADVANTAGES. TECHNOLOGICAL BREAKTHROUGHS AND INNOVATIONS HAVE HELPED IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN OF FLAME TREATING STATIONS THAT PROVIDE CONSISTENT AND SUPERIOR SURFACE TREATMENT. THE PARAMETERS AFFECTING SURFACE TREATMENT ARE IDENTIFIED AND THEIR EFFECT ON SURFACE TREATMENT ARE DISCUSSED.
