This paper reviews the available technology in ultra-low and zero VOC modified polyester liquid coatings and their impact on performance, compliance and cost issues when compared to conventional high solids liquid and powder coatings. In addition, the primary factors to be considered in converting existing application systems to the use of the materials and/or the design of new application installations is reviewed. Of the many case studies available, general conclusions are drawn representative of the impact this technology can have on a production environment.
