U.V. curable coatings lend themselves well to many flat line finishing operations. Many roll coating formulations are 100% solids and, as such, are very appealing to consider, given the present air quality standards. This paper will address the different steps in achieving a quality finish on solid wood products, specifically on, but not limited to, flush architectural doors. The finishing operations for hardwood flooring or furniture panels would be similar. Each step in the finishing operation will be discussed in detail, to be of help to anyone planning such a line.
