Both plasma and laser have been used extensively in the metal fabricating industry. The means by which the thermal energy is delivered to the workpiece coupling with the heat transfer phenomenon defines the scope of the study. In the past years, there were numbers of articles being published focused on theoretical modeling and practical work experience pertaining to these two thermal cutting processes. The primary focus of this article is to describe step-by-step procedures of employing statistical techniques to assess thermal cutting machine's capability.
