This abstract will provide you with information regarding the applications of computer based sectional analysis for two aircraft engine stampings. Forming was simulated and results validated by comparing sheet thickness along selected sections. The results verified that sectional analysis can be employed on complex stampings even when the assumptions for two-dimensional deformation are only partially met.
