Polar Materials has developed low-temperature, low-pressure gas plasma processes for the functionalization and coating of the surfaces of many material types that may have direct application in the markets for thermoform containers including high barrier, silica coated polyester film laminations to be used as lid materials; the inside or outside silica coating of pre-formed containers for barrier enhancements; the stain-resistant and odor-resistant treatment of plastic containers for use particularly in multi-use applications; and the plasma cleaning, sterilization and deprogenation of formed containers for applications in the medical parts, devices and garmet markets.
