Extrusion of degradable resins such as PVC has always been a challenge for processors. This paper will concentrate on the special requirements and unique design features that are being used for flat film dies, sheet dies, siding dies and form dies. A better understanding of the inter-relationship between the resin rheology and the extrusion die hardware will allow processors and designers to make better choices. Also presented in this paper is a summary of the different flat extrusion dies used in the industry.
