This paper presents an improved upper bound technique for analysis of flow in streamlined extrusion dies. Extrusion die is the heart of the extrusion process. Die design is both an art and science. Streamlined or shaped dies are finding wide spread application in the composite, powder and polymer processing industry. Extensive theoretical and experimental research has been carried out in the past to improve die design and the flow of material through it.
