The process efficiency of laser forming can be significantly increased by using special cooling devices, suitable for the rapid cooling of locally heated sheet metal samples. This paper describes some of the different cooling techniques that can be applied to increase the potentials of laser forming to become a powerful manufacturing method for rapid prototyping tasks and the production of small lots.
